Program to generate or check digests or macs
Shash is a program intended to produce message digests for files, or it can check with the output of a former run whether the message digests are still the same. Shash uses several hash algorithms. This helps you securely check if files have been altered.

There are run-time dependencies that need to be installed first. Why not use depothelper to install them all in one go?
